Appletons Wool Yarn Shade Cards

Once there was Paternayan Persian yarn, the finest for needlepoint work because of its softness and fiber strength. Other wools are harder on the hands, and come apart when knitting behind the canvas. We relied on Paternayan until they stopped producing yarn. We have tried to replace our supplier with an equally superior yarn, one that stays firm while being worked, and also being easy on our fingers.
When our long time store nearby closed , we searched for alternate suppliers. Now we found HM Nabavian in New York City. Here their canvas is equal to the best we have found. And equally surprising we found Appletons English Needlepoint Wool..This wool is by far the finest to work needlepoint; it’s easy on the hands and doesn’t fray when worked on the back of the canvas.

Appletons shade cards are equally amazing! We have all been amazed at the colors now available.
Appletons yarn is of the highest quality at prices comparable to years ago. I can’t imagine anyone selecting yarn without these color shade cards in hand!
