You have to go into a loading dock, find a door with a cardboard sign for HM NABAVIAN, walk down a cinderblock stairwell to a giant wearhouse of rugs, yarn and needlepoint fibers from all over the world. They have rare, organic fibers and A LOT of it. I talked to the owner who gave me the incredible backstory of how the family came from Iran, I met his mom who handpaints canvases and I bought one of her canvases literally as she was finishing painting it. It is a must see in NYC if you are a crafty b!
