This deep rich purple is one of the deepest purples we sell. Use it to add an opulent feel to your needlework. Purple encourages, inspires, uplifts, and enlightens. So many mollusks were required to manufacture purple dye before the discovery of synthetic dyes in the nineteenth century that the immense piles of discarded shells were created along the eastern coast of the Mediterranean. These are so pronounced that they have become geographical features of the landscape.
